The Voyager

Sara Jean Underwood (born 26 March 1984) was the cover model for the October 2005 issue of Playboy. She appeared as playmate of the month for July 2006. She is a senior at Oregon State University. She is from Scappoose, Oregon and graduated from Scappoose High School in 2002.

She appeared on the cover holding a football with nothing but bodypaint on her to simulate her wearing a jersey similar in design to the ones worn by the OSU Beavers football team with matching bikini briefs. She also appeared in the Girls of Pac 10 pictorial in the same issue. Her bodypainted appearance on the cover, along with a bodypainted Victoria Thornton appearing in the foldout cover, is something that Playboy has not attempted for many years. The same football jersey motif bodypainting was shown recently in the 2005 issue of Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue which may have served as the inspiration for this cover. Sara also appeared in episode #2 of E! reality television series, The Girls Next Door as a playmate hopeful having her test shoot taken at Playboy Studio West. She was given the title of Miss July 2006.
